I'm glad you have your master link back in, and I hope even more that the key link lock is on in the right direction.

Many more coats, and a LOT of sanding to go.

Here's a shot of what I had to pull off to get to the metal (it's a mixture of silicon sealer and metal)

One of the worst tanks I've ever seen! Astonishingly, the petcock appears to function properly. I took it apart and cleaned all of the flaky old gas out of it, and it will hold fuel back when in off, and pull from the proper area when in On or Reserve. Glad I don't have to track one down!

Did some sanding on it. All holes are now filled in. Next step: Bondo! The hardest part of doing this with JB Weld was keeping the line for the side cover at the proper height. Other than that, this was a breeze. Took about 4 coats of JB (2 coats, sand, then 2 more coats, sand) to get all of the holes filled in. Once the bondo is on and sanded it should look like a new tank after paint!
