Aprilia Party Pictures - July 2008 MotoGP

Well I'm guilty of slacking off and not posting up these pictures until now.

But better than never! These are the pictures I took while I was hanging out at the Aprilia Party in Monterey just after the Moto GP race. I was really surprised how nice it was. Aprilia really went out of their way to rent the space, serve up all the food and drinks and they had a very very nice staff to help put this on. Did I mention there were free alcoholic beverages? Free coffee, Rip It energy drinks and more. It was a LOT of fun and I'm looking forward to next year. Let's pray that the economy allows. Please o please.

So sit back and have a look at all the eye candy!

No demo rides today? What!??

There was a good turnout for sure. People came from all over.

The later the party went the more bikes showed up.

Yours truly right up front with the RSVR w/white headlight paint.

And what was going on inside the Aprilia Party? Story telling among other things.

Hot looking Tuono and an MP3 just hangin out for the staff to cruise around on. Jason Britton was putting on his stunt show across the street in a parking lot.

I check for keys.

HPI Racing was there with their full product line of RC cars there for everyone to drive around if they chose to do so.

And of course there were plenty of people who wanted to play around with em.

If you haven't seen one of these in person they are BIG. That's a weed whacker engine in there!

This iron butt came all the way down from Washington with his friends.

Stunning bikes in person. Glad to see the ol Bol D'Or Aprilia RSVR made it to the party.

A couple MV Agustas got jealous and had to crash the party. Who let those monkeys in??

I got to talk to Darryl Atkins for quite a while and learn all about his Aprilia experience on his Aprilia SXV 550. I got to learn all about setup and how much it has progressed over the last couple of years in supermoto racing.This guy really smokes and you can witness the action here at this K&N link: http://www.knfilters.com/video/aprilia.htm He definitely kicked some but with numerous 1st place finished aboard this machine.

Of course I had to get closer and really check things out.

Gotta love that frame.

NO NOT MY BIKE! This dude really had a hard time that weekend. He had a fall on his way down to the races as you can see upon inspection. Look closely at the emblem on the can:

I have a picture that I took of the damage at the track. That sucks. At least he didn't wimp out and go home. He kept on riding like a trooper.

And here is my bike waiting for me to get on it and ride off into the cool Monterey night air.
