doing some wiring

Post by hoghungry1 »

My coil had been replaced, obviously by a Honda shop. It was twisted, soldered and covered neatly with shrink tubing. THEY are the assholes that used the green wire that horrified me. it was the exact same wire as the green leg to the coil and should have been black.

Wonder if the shop is still in business? (bike came from Pa.)

The coil in this 66 model was stamped on the brass mount as

Verso part number 29700-071-1

Out of curiousity, I checked the coil on it's trusty sidekick, the donor.

It was marked in black ink on the coil itself

Verso IGNITION COIL
29700-071-0

Verso is written in an odd font. The V is unusual.

Just for reference and perhaps you can google just that. I know I am going to...

NO RESULTS shucks

My guess is may be a aftermarket coil. The standard coils I have seen on the CA95's are Denso #29700-026-0 6 volt.
