Some Craigslist Bikes
Hi Everyone,
Here are a couple of pretty neat bikes that were on Craigslist out here in the PNW the past few days. I would love to buy all of them...

Very cool. This past weekend I worked on a neighbor's CL77, similar to the scrambler in the last picture you posted. That 305 hadn't run in a decade, but I went through the carbs and adjusted the valves and it starts in a single kick now. Cool machine.
It's not a Honda, but in a month or two, I should be getting my next toy, which I'm sitting in below. It would be fun on the back roads and hills around the lakes here in the north.

Good eyes, Sam. No, it's no BMW - there's no room in my budget for a real vintage BMW sidecar outfit.Sam Green wrote:Is it a BMW BTL ?

This is a Russian knock-off of a late 1930s BMW R71. These were distributed as Ural and Dnepr (pronounced nyepper) to the west. Ural lives on today, but this is a Dnepr machine, built in Kiev, Ukraine. Just prior to World War 2, the Russians copied the BMW R71 and set up factories to produce these for military use.
This one has exactly 23 miles on it ... it's been ridden twice. It has a paint job reminiscent of old agricultural equipment. The sidecar panels were hand-hammered over wooden forms, I'm told. It's 75 year old technology, and should need lots of care and feeding. It looks like fun, and should be a great conversation starter.
Here's an excellent history: http://www.cvkustoms.com/Library/Dnepr-Ural_History.html
