Guy on MopedArmy is selling a CA95 tank

Post by comp_wiz101 »

Hey folks, ringing the dinner bell on this gas tank on Moped Army - it's been converted to use a CB125 petcock, but looks like it could use some tidying up before repainting. It's not mine, I'd just rather see someone buy it for a resto than a moped mod.

I have a weathered red original painted one as well that is comparable with that one but not modified. If anyone needs one let me know. Could use a good cleaning but it's a good one. I'll get a picture up later.

I could use it. I just dropped $110 a couple weeks ago having one boiled out, soldered and Redcoted. Problem is I bead-blasted it yesterday to prep for paint and now a bunch more pinholes showed up in the bottom left, the seam, and another near the petcock. I know when take it back to the Radiator shop that did the work, he's gonna want more $ to solder up the new holes and re-Redcote. My plan was to throw more money at this one, since I don't have another, but I'm afraid this one's gonna be too costly and still might be problematic If you've got a better starting point, then I'd be glad to take you up on your offer. Please let me know what you want for it. I'm not too far north from you in Scotts Valley, CA.

Yeah mine just needs some elbow grease but it's looking strong. I'll get some detailed pics today.

I inspected it closely and it's a good strong tank without any dents. I just need to bring my camera with me today. :D It's a nice faded red Tokyo Rose'esk type paint too!

Pinky's tank is actually in decent (usable) condition. It's the tank on CA95#2 that is bad, bad, bad!

Ok I got some good pictures. I had to wait until the daytime for good light. With the sun going down really early because of daylight savings I had to remember to do this in the morning. :) Click on the following link: Benly 150 CA95 Tank

I'm sure I can extract those petcock screws with some light heat. The surface corrosion bushes right off and the actual rust in the metal is very light.

$50 + shipping and it's gone.
