Default Clutch cables

I need to get a new clutch cable and want to be sure I get the correct one. My CA95 is a 1963 as best as I can determine. The engine numbers is
CA95E 3108409
VIN is CA953108272

There seems to be two version of the cable and the CMSNL web site seems to indicate my engine number would need the late model part number 22870 212 000. All the ones on ebay are part number 22870 203 000. Does anyone know if there is a siginificant difference between the 2 or if I got the wrong one will it not work?

I could have one made but would need to know the exact length of the outer and the cable itself. Can someone provide these lengths?

Thanks,

Ed

Where do you get cables made? I've got a vent cable in a 66 caddy that could use replacing.

I have two (2) new CA95 clutch cables waiting to be installed. One cable is p/n 22870-203-000, which I purchased from Ohio Cycles for my '59 CA95 (early), and it is 57 inches long. The other cable I got with a '63 CA95 (late) and it is 53 inches long; this cable didn't come with a part number, but I'm assuming it is correct for my late model CA95, since it came with it. Also, on the "early" cable, the threaded shaft that inserts into the clutch cover is 3/8 inch longer than the threaded shaft on the "late" cable. Hope this helps.

Motion Pro makes a ton of motorcycle cables. Wonder if they'll make auto cables or know who does?
