I just heard from a friend in Norway. He found a source for the JIS Thread Pitch tap & Dies.

Looks like a good site. I was Googling the subject and found this info about the Phillips type screw heads that are JIS spec. This Instructables website is pretty neat but to really get into some neat electronic tinkering and fixing sites Ifixit.com and Ifixit.org are my favs. Anyhow just commenting on some JIS hardware.
