CA160 Serial Number ?

Where is it? I've read that it should be below the cover on the left side. Cant find mine in this area unless they are so faint the paint hides them. I was told mine is a 1968. Thanks for any help in solving this mystery.

It's there, but the stamped numbers are so shallow that a repaint job fills in the number depressions. You might have to sand the area lightly to see them.
Also, if the bike was sandblasted without being carefull around the numbers, they can be forever erased. Good luck.
The motor number will be close to the frame number within about 10 to 50 digits
