1960 Honda CA95 Restoration

I measured mine tonight and they are the same thickness as the ones you have. I am interested if you want to sell them.

I have used the five friction disks in my bike (it also had four disks originally)....just put two side by side at one position....appears to work fine

Thanks. That is what I was wondering since there seems to be a lot of sets of 5 on eBay.

Those 4 discs Roberd42 has appear to be old OEM Honda, as they are made of solid composite material, not an aluminum plate sandwiched with composite (like the aftermarket ones). My '64 CA95 had the original plates which were solid composite material.

rhodemon: I just read your post in detail and it seems that you have more than one Tokyo Rose CA95. Do you know if they have been included in the 9 currently known to exist? Are your little jewels running, and restored or original? Would love to learn more about them; I know Mike and I are keenly intersted.

Also, I have heard that Honda might've officially named the color of these Tokyo Rose bikes "Dusty Rose". Do you (or does anyone else on this Fourm) have any other insight into the real name that Honda gave this color?

Got a little further along with the reassembly over the last few weeks. Some of these parts are not fully installed but I needed a little motivation so i put the tank and seat up to see how they look

....

One part I'm having fits finding is the tank mounting bolt. I have 3 but there was one missing when I got the bike. If anyone has one that can be spared I would be grateful if you could let me know.

I wanted to share a few pictures of the almost complete engine. I say almost because I am waiting on a few bits for the other side.

Hopefully will get it back in the frame soon and the rest is downhill (hopefully). Then I get to try to start up the 55 year old beast

The bike will be awesome for sure. It's always a pleasure to wake the bike up after years of sitting. Do be careful when fueling for the first time. I can say that every bike I brought back leaked gas at the petcock or the carb fuel bowl at first. Usually the fuel bowl overflows due to a float issue.

Sorry that the forum is slow. Hopefully it's a summer thing. I think only a few of us are hanging around.

Excellent point, Spokes. Would hate to see all that fresh paint messed up by a fuel leak, and it seems they always do leak. Protect that paint!
