Want dash lights to only turn on when headlights are on
I have a 2006 Tacoma double-cab 4x4 and currently the dash lights are on all the time. This causes me to forget to turn the headlights on when when it gets dark.
Does anyone know what I need to do specifically to make the change to have dash lights to only turn on when headlights are on?

Hmm that's strange! So when you click the headlight knob once do your running lights turn on like normal? One click = running lights + cluster lights correct?
Your running lights/corner marker lights aren't on all the time are they? Then I would think that your switch is shorted out. But if your cluster lights are on but your corner markers aren't then it's something else. That's a newer model truck that I'm not that familiar with sorry. |

Smithers, that's the way it was designed to always have the instrument cluster's lights on regarless of headlight light switch position (including off) because the gauges are deep and Toyota thought that they would be hard to see. This truck does NOT have daylight running lights.
I only want the instrument cluster's lights to come on when the headlights are on like in most vehicles.
