need a coil
I need a coil for an 1964 ca-95. Does anyone know where I can find one or something that may interchange and do the job?

I want a better solution than to spend hundreds of dollars on a brand new one, IF you can find it, or going through countless $20 ebay coils. Is there a decent 6v coil replacement anyone's worked out for these bikes? What have others been doing when they go bad?

I wish I had the answer. I look for coils with a 2.0- 2.5 OHM reading. I replace the spark plug wires and caps. Always look for or ask about wax drips on the outside of the coil. If you see this condition it usually means the coil was overheated and most likely ruined. You can cook the coil if you leave the ignition on while the bike is not running and just by bad luck the points are closed.
Looking for cracked housings and damaged wires are a given when shopping for old coils. |
