So this is your truck you are buying and your thinkin $600 is ok? I would locate another engine! I'm assuming it's a 4cyl? You rarely see those on the road anymore because the heads crack on almost all of them. My dad had one... he got rid of it. My friends dad had one in flawless shape. The head cracked on that one too and it ruined the catalytic converter as well! He got rid of it. Those are scary trucks. They are comfortable and a convenient size but jeez those engines are just not good from the get-go. I can't see how that one has that many miles - is the engine original!?

I've seen the newer trucks, the Chevy Colorado, sell for really cheap. They have a lot of dash rattling and their engines are slugs and don't get the mpg they should but they are cheap.

Good idea! Cheap cars and old trucks are a dime a dozen. A friend of mine picked up a decommissioned (from the Parks Department) Jeep Cherokee for $350! Keep your eyes peeled for a Jeep Comanche. Those pickups are extremely tough vehicles. Someone gave is giving one to a friend of mine and another friend is fixing one up that he got on the cheap as well. I've seen them take some extreme abuse.
On to the next project! |
