I don't think that the bearing failure possibilty is a huge thing. These were, and are, known to be great little bikes.
But I think that I was one of the unlucky ones. Sometimes when engines sit too long w/o being run..........................

Well, I do have a CA160 frame to take the mounts from, but I'd have to cut them off that frame, cut the old 150 mounts off off of my bike, and then weld the CA160 mounts on my frame.........not so sure that I want to go through all of that. Now, if my 160 engine was a runner, that's another story ...

Did your 160 come with the carburetor? I tried to see if a 150 carb would fit, but it was way too small. So I have no idea what I'll do, since CA160 carbs never show up anywhere for sale. Plus, I have to find a carb spacer/manifold. That's going to be fun. Maybe there's another bike with a rubber ...

You might want to read this ebay review first. Some guy bought one from the same dude, and it didn't fit. If you look at the second picture of the carb, you can see that it wouldn't. It already has bolts in it, and a correct CA95 carb would be drilled to fit the bolts that are already on the engine ...

Then just go with the lantern battery. I used a cheap $3.00 eveready one to get mine going. Fits right in the battery tray. About the same voltage and amp rating as a regular battery. Run some wires from the terminals to the battery cables. Be sure to check your fuse on the + cable to see if it's ...

I imagine if you covered the rest of the tire with masking tape except for the sidewall portion, you could pull it off with a good can of spray paint. They even ake white tire paint specifically for this purpose, but it's brush-on stuff. Doesn't sound bad for $9 a can:

Key position is a very important thing with these bikes. Mine would only start on one of the key positions. It wouldn't get any spark or voltage with the others. Third position (dot) from last on the left side of the switch. The position right in the center. You might just have the key in the wrong ...
