Well I hate to say it, but if the starter turned albeit slowly before you disassembled it, you did something wrong when you put it back together again.

Once there is smoke, there is no going back. The starter is toast. Best to get another on ebay.

Back to the smoking out of one pipe. Have you done ...

Looking at this parts fiche it doesn't appear to be any parts available for purchase for the starter internals. http://www.cmsnl.com/honda-ca95-benly-touring-150-usa_model993/partslist/

You may be able to take it to an automotive shop or bike dealer to check it out. If nothing appears to be burnt ...

For starters, do a cold compression on both cylinders to get an idea what condition the top end is in. It will save all kinds of future headaches.

On the cylinder that is smoking, after you do the first compression test, pour a small amount of oil into the cylinder and do another cold compression ...

Hey Frappy,

That's a "Snappy" (sorry, couldn't resist) looking CA100. Really nice job! I have 1966 CA100 that's on the back burner for now. It's red one so it's probably a little faster than your black one. Smirk!

Yeah, SS125's are kind of dogs. The gearing is all wrong. 1st gear gets you to maybe ...

Here's some pics of the SS125A that I just finished up. The 1st one is when I bought it. The 2nd 2 are restored. The 4th over cylinder bore finally cleaned up the mess from the previous machine shop. The new machine shop did a great job. Bike started on second kick and purrs like a kitten.

Now I ...

That sure is a cool bike. Like you said, maybe not valuable, but cool nonetheless.

Just like you, I have too many projects going and no documentation of the progress. I am horrible at taking pictures. I have to start concentrating on completing one project at a time vs picking at all of them.

I ...

It's alive! The site is alive again! Thanks Frappy!

Awesome find. Love the up-swept pipes. You mentioned the tranny problems. Not knowing anything about this model, I'm wondering about sourcing parts? Any chance CA95 engine parts are interchangeable?

Last year I picked up a 1968 SS125A and some ...

First off, all CA95 engines of all years will fit any year frame. Things like exhaust, carburetors, wiring etc will interchange without problems.

You stated that yours is a 1963. There were 2 versions of the 1963. Early and late versions. Most of the differences are minimal however, if you have an ...

Buffing Question

Just wondering what you guys are doing for final finish on any of the parts that are buffed to a mirror finish.

Are you clear coating or just leaving them all shiny with no finish? If clear coating, how are you prepping the parts first so the clear bonds well.?

Damn!!!! Absolutely amazing work. Stunning isn't even a good enough description. The new gold standard we will all aspire to from here on in.

Are you sure wasn't caused by loose "Spokes"? (Smirk) or maybe caused by a small WW2 land mine?

Great photo by the way. Man that bike looks slick.

Awesome video Spokes. After watching it I just had to take mine out for a spin. These bikes are so much fun. While I was buzzing around, I kept thinking about how much fun and lucky someone is going to be with that bike.

This was the Japanese industry standard up to about 1968 when they changed

Same goes for the emblem screws on the gas tank, the starter cover on the right side of the engine and the screws for the controls on the handlebars (lights/horn and start button/throttle)

Oh and also the the upper rear ...

Amazing bike, amazing work. Most people would have left that bike for dead but you and your imagination saw a diamond in the rough. Be sure to let your wife know that her work on the seat really makes the bike.

After all that work, I would have a hard time letting it go. Someone is going to be very ...

Here's another military benly to add to your build. You could call this one a prototype.
