Battery/Rectifier
I needed to use my charger everytime I rode my CA95...with a new battery and even without using lights. Pulled the old red rectifier and replaced it with the R42a2 (42amp, 3 wire potted rectifier) from:
http://www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com/rectifiers.html Now when I return from a ride using lights, and plug in the trickle charger...it shows full charge. Great product ... I found this company's information on this forum. As always, Thanks. |
Yep, I've used that same source for rectifiers for my previous restoration projects, all have worked well. Inexpensive, too. I have one for my Benly.
Selenium degrades slowly over time, so even pristine NOS rectifiers from 5 decades ago won't be as efficient as these cheap silicon-based rectifiers. |
Cool!

We touched on the subject a bit earlier this year:

Great information here!
