Default Cunning plan

Ok, Where do we get the spokes to fit the old hubs?

Since they have $250 of my restoration funds already, my plan is to simply wait for the Coker production to happen. I know they've rescheduled a dozen times, but I'm optimistic that the 'end of March' date will hold true. Since my restoration will easily take me into the early Summer, I'm in no rush.

If we go up in rim size, the speedometer will reflect a lower speed than actual, and the larger rear diameter will reduce rear wheel torque a bit.

Loved your Moby Dick reference, but I'm hopeful that we won't suffer the same fate that Melville's Ahab does. "...for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee" shouldn't be the battle cry for the hunt of little white wall tires.

JetBlack, maybe you should just buy the molds and make these for us in your garage.

This is very interesting. I am going to try an experiment. Since I lace and true my own wheels, I will buy a 17" 36 hole rim from/for the list of bikes given, along with the spokes for said bike. Then lace and true the original ca95/160 hub. Since I am in the middle of another CA160, I will fit the new assembly (and a 17" tire)to the 160, which is the same frame as the 95.

The 17" wheel opens up lots of choices. Thanks Jet...we will see what happens.
