Default Bad EBAY practice by seller... anybody know him?

Thought I'd share an ebay experience with you guys. I, like everybody else, peruse eBay fairly regularly, both because I sell occasionally, and I use eBAy as the high end "voice of the market" or basically retail. You can still find a deal or two as you guys are aware.
Anyway....
A seller, MR.HAPPY2CU, has a CB160, item 180937004577, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-...item2a20af9621, listed but as a "Superhawk" project running etc etc. I emailed the guy trying to let him know the description was incorrect (and deceptive IMO) thinking "maybe he doesn't know".
Of course I got a nasty response "Please dont waste your time pointing out the obvious. I know what a cb77 is so you can forget the technical absurdity. Ive had 10 superhwak cb77's. I can do what I want and call it whatever name I please. Go bug someone else."
Of course I rose to the bait and we went back and forth a bit with me reporting the listing to eBay this a.m. Again, IMO, he is clearly misrepresenting the item and makes all or any of us look bad. So if any of you know this guy, I believe his name is Gary, from Ohio, and the seller name above, please help him to understand the error of his ways. Other than that all I can say to the group is "Caveat Emptor" or "let the buyer be ware".
Anybody else believe the diff between a CB160 and CB77 is a "technical absurdity"?

Yea, I don't get the blatant misnaming. He certainly knows what he has. MY initial message-"Dear mr.happy2cu,

Please don't call this a Superhawk, it for sure IS NOT. Superhawks have the 305 engine yada yada...

- larzfromarz"
wasn't too heavy handed, I think, and eBay's reporting procedure sucks. At least those here know better, its the ones who don't know, that I'm concerned about. I kind of look at the big picture as "the Vintage Experience". Most folks are trying to live a bit of nostalgia, and I believe the better the experience the better it is for all of us and the hobby. Makes "us- the hobby" look bad- there will always be a few bad apples I guess.

He's just trying to get search results from within Ebay.com. Pretty sad. Why would you even care about trying to label your item to exploit Ebays search when you can flood the web with your bike for sale on much more effective sites and forums. I've seen a lot of overseas sellers misrepresenting parts (NOS etc..) and with exotic names but whole motorcycles? That's just dumb and won't get you anything but bad comments.

Lots of sellers try and label reman parts as MOS / Mint Old Stock or some other stupid misrepresentation in order to move parts to confused buyers that were duped. Then they would use the excuse that they disclosed the condition and make of the part with their made up acronym that is misleading. And of course they will offer a full refund if you return the part 5,000 miles overseas back to them. I almost fell victim to this but the seller wouldn't return questions once the auction was won so I was able to void the auction.

Ok I won't rant anymore... it's hard not to!

Here are a couple useful links for ebay scam facts that are interesting to read:

And what a piece of junk. Yeah it's "99% there" alright! That gave me a good laugh. That bike needs almost everything detailed, repainted or re-chromed. Good luck with that one.

And I see the smart eBayers gave him what he deserved a NO WIN.
And I completely get that the terms used increase your "hits" on ebay. Funny though I can't imagine someone looking at SuperHawks would "settle" for 160.
Nothing wrong with them, I have "Baby Hawk" myself as a little brother to my Super. What did Earl Hickey say "Karma is a bitch", well somebody said it.
And it was about a $350 bike in the first place.

As far I know the CB72 (250cc) and CB77(305) were truly Superhawks. I've see many unofficial "Baby Hawk" or "Baby SuperHawk" references for the CB160. And from a distance and the untrained eye, the bikes are very similar. The twin carb CB160 is a nice boost over the CA160 and even more so over the 150cc. I don't have the curb weight but am sure the CB160 is a little "svelter" then the CA. The Honda models and line ups are only beginning to make sense to me, so I could be wrong.
The nomenclature can be very confusing for sure, after all isn't every Honda a "Dream"?
