SO YES July is a good month so far for the Toyota Tacoma 1UZ-FE
  • Custom heads are torqued down
  • Cams are in
  • New starter is in position
  • Balanced injectors are secure under the fuel rail
  • All rubber seals, o-rings and gaskets are new
  • Water pump is brand new
  • Pulleys are all new
  • All the hardware is P-coated or painted
  • Wiring is cleaned and conditioned
  • New timing belt is in place with new tensioner
  • Adaptronic ECU and new wiring harness is on standby for installation
  • Innovate wideband O2 controller is ready for tuning
  • Basically everything is new except the oil pump which Mr. Lextreme is warning me about but I do not want to take the whole engine apart AGAIN to put in a new one plus I have a whole extra engine so I'm covered =]
Things are looking good!

I am waiting for paint to dry on a few nuts and bolts. Tomorrow the rest of the covers and belt components will be assembled. David over at Lextreme.com recommended this starter bolt modification which I thought was a great idea. Read about this over here:--> Lexus LS400 Starter Change Modification <--

Ok last year really flew by and now that I am in the middle of my engine installation you might want to check out the appropriate thread: http://www.fourwheelforum.com/showthread.php?t=248

It's been less than a week and I'm making some really quick install progress. The factory 3rz 4-banger is already out of the truck and engine bay prep has already started. Things are moving right along.

If the action out at the dunes was this fun with the 4cylinder I can't wait to hit the sand with the V8!
