It might be a while. I've heard that the bonded title process can take some time. Not sure how much fun it would be anyways. It's supposed to by 110 here this week!

Yeah, I've already forked over $150 to a third party agency that does the bonded title process for me. It'll save some leg-work and I have a lot of work to do before I feel good about riding the thing on the street anyhow. I pulled the tank out of the molasses bath today and pressure washed the inside and most of the rust is gone but there is still enough that I don't feel comfortable putting it back on and running it so I'm going to have to come up with a plan B. I had to order a speedo off of ebay because the one that came on the bike is full of rust and siezed. I was tempted by the new km/h Thailand parts but I ended up going with a takeoff that was listed in working condition that will display MPH.

I pretty much have everything I NEED for the bike right now. Next up is to track down the stuff I want. It looks like I can get a steering lock for cheap from Ebay. I just need to find a good source for the pretty chrome bits that I'm missing. I need to get the gas tank panels, kneepads and emblems, the chrome lower fork covers and the airbox cover. I'm having a hard time not emptying my bank account now that I've heard it run.

I'm having a locally owned and operated third party do it (the owners are friends with my dad) and they are licensed my the Arizona MVD. My dad and brother have used them for bonded titles a number of times in the past and have had good luck with them. If I ever have to do this again, I'll probably try your method but for now, I'm just looking forward to getting a title in hand.

I got my title today and the spare tank with petcock (and all of the chrome, rubbers and emblems I was missing) came. I'm taking Monday off of work and I'm going to do the wheels and tires (clean rust out of the wheels, lube everything and put it all back together), paint the tank and start working on the starter. The new tank is pretty clean so I'm going to water blast the inside, paint it and put it on. Hopefully I can get the bike running in a few weekends and start posting ride reports instead of updates on parts I've received.

I do have one question regarding the funky round grease fittings on the bike. Will a standard grease gun end for a zerk fitting work or do I need to find a special fitting somewhere?

A standard grease gun works..but you have to manually hold the grease gun fitting on the funky round fitting.

Thanks! That's what I needed to know. I can't wait to ride this thing. My first major ride (once I get the inevitable bugs sorted out) will be to the top of Mt. Lemmon. It's one of the better motorcycle roads in the state. http://www.motorcycleroads.com/75/11...Island%29.html

My brother and I spent four hours working on it and we got a lot done today. We got the new rectifier in, did the headlamp (Thanks to jetblackchemist for his awesome tutorial. The thing is BRIGHT!), got the tank and petcock ready to go (I'm using the tank and petcock that I got from Ebay as both were in much better shape than the ones that came on the bike), got the horn working perfectly (as simple as cleaning the contacts) and took off the rear wheel, pried off the old rotten tire and cleaned it out. I also bought a ground wire to replace the old ground strap that was too short due to my battery being slightly taller than the stock 6v unit.

Quick question for those who have gone 12v. Do you know the part numbers for the bulbs you used for the tail lamp, speedo light, neutral indicator and high beam indicator? I still need to buy those but I'd hate to waste money on the wrong ones.

12V bulb for the CA95/160 is an 1157 found at any auto parts store.

For the indicator/high beam/speedo light in 12V call:

Randolph, Hale & Meredith Co. in Bowling Green KY. Tell them you want bulb# 219 in 12V. 270-781-1460 They can order them for you. Around $10.00 for box of six.

For all other readers of this thread, bulb #219 is the 6V bulb that fits the above application.

I'd gladly bring samples to the parts store to match but they're all broken. Thanks for the info. This forum and the people who post on it have been invaluable.
