Default Mirror Restoration

I've found some genuine mirrors on ebay. I can clean the chrome no problem, however, the mirror rubber trim looks like it's seen better days. Does anyone know how to restore the rubber trim?

I suggest trimming the old rubber away with a exacto blade. Clean the mirror with alcohol. Bead the parameter of the mirror black windshield sealant. With the edge of the exacto knife smooth the sealant around the parameter of the mirror and allow to set.

After the sealant is cured, trim the sealant with a new exacto blade (or the like)

Yeah, what Spokes said. He must have seen me do it to my mirrors and is passing the technique on to you.
