Engine side cover
Well it has been a while since the my dream was dismantled for rebuilding. I'm in the process of putting it back together and have a couple of questions for the experts: The left side cover that mounts toward the rear of the engine has a cut out for the wiring harness which is obvious but what is the rectangular hole for on the side? Secondly, I would like to reassembe with all new hardware and was wondering if anyone had use button head allen bolts for this? Anyone have a source for the complete set of hardware?

Hole in the side
The clutch cable has a square part that holds it in the side case.
If you have the parts book it's on page 61 item #11. |

If it's a CA95 Rimfire Cycles screws has a set.
http://www.rimfire-eng.com/CA95_Ordering_Page.htm I've never put anything on the bolts to insure ease of release. Cycles have a vibration problem that can loosen bolts and in some cases you need a weak locktite adhesive to hold them. Just keep the threads clean and torque the screws and bolts properly. Buy a hand impact to open the screws. It will be worth it's weight in gold. Last edited by DanUhr; 02-16-2012 at 03:52 AM. Reason: Added comments |

Thanks. The clutch cable makes sense. As I'm from Ontario, I am pretty sure this is a C95 (not sure how it differs from a CA95) I do not have a parts book and Im figuring it out as I go. Regarding the bolts - do any of you use anything on the threads? Such as anti sieze compound so that future dissassembly is easier?

#2 in the schematic is a rectangular port that provides access to where the clutch cable connects. This port was added at some point, and may not be on the earliest bikes. #9 is an aluminum joint that supports the clutch cable. |

Thanks ByTheLake and DanUhr. Both of you have been helpful. Items 2 & 9 were what I was refering to. I have to look around and see if I have those two peices (I was not the one who took it apart) Am I correct in assuming that # 9 is attached to the cable?

Yes, the clutch cable routes through part #9.

Jim, there's a bit in this thread that shows how to tell the C95 from its CA95 brother.

Thanks Sam. They don't appear to be that much different mechanically but in saying that I don't have the bike experience you guys do. The most obvious difference I note is that C95 is stamped right in the engine block assy.
