Well, I finally have the shop in decent working order again. I moved a bench added loft space, and engine rack and made places for the welder and bead cabinet. Most importantly I wired new outlets in a garage that had none. I also bought a bench top drill press. I have a well packed shop in about 2/3 of a standard single car garage, it'll do for now.
Since I now had bench space it was time to decide to start the CA95 bike or take a look at the engine. Since the bike seems to be a pretty well understood factor at this stage, I thought I'd start to break down the engine. Its is interesting to compare the 150 to the 160 and see the evolution. If you have any experience with the Honda singles, it becomes easy to see the evolution from the singles like the 90cc to the 125/150 cc. Essentially the 150 is a upright twin of the single cyl engine.
Anyway the results of the top end tear down were very good. The cylinders are bright but glazed and the pistons and rings look like normal use but not hard wear. Bores were 49.01x49.01 and 49.02x49.025 and no ridge at the top, so I'll just re-ring it in standard size after de-glaze and light honing. Shopping now for new wrist pins and clips just for good measure. I think this should be an easy overhaul, we'll see for sure when the bottom of the case comes off.
Still thinking of paint for the bike....

I like the CT rack. It totally matches the bike and it's keeping it all Honda.
