Default Aluminum Clean Up & Polish

Up until last week I polished my aluminum and steel parts with green or gold rouge on my buffing wheel. I would start by sanding from coarse to fine paper before buffing...but no more!

A fabricator friend turned me on to something I had not seen before...a de-burring wheel! It is made of a tight fiber material. You can "buff" down welds without grinding! Flip me out...

For amuminum a light going over with this wheel takes you through the corrosion to leave a very nice finish. Be careful not to spend too much time in one place as you can sculpt the aluminum.

After the de-burring wheel, hitting the part with a buffing wheel with gold rouge brings out a terrific shine. Even rusted parts clean up fast.

Just an FYI to all.
