Default Buffing Question

Just wondering what you guys are doing for final finish on any of the parts that are buffed to a mirror finish.

Are you clear coating or just leaving them all shiny with no finish? If clear coating, how are you prepping the parts first so the clear bonds well.?

If my aluminum is not clear coated, I just buff with Mother's billet polish applied to a polishing rag or 0000 steel wool.

I haven't applied a clear coat to mirror finish aluminum, but when clear-coating a stock looking finish, I've used Windex to prep and then paint with Dupli-Color 500 degree Engine Enamel, DE1636 Clear.

The Mother's polishing cone works very well. it gets into tight places and does a nice job. Cliff.
