Now I'm troubleshooting spark. I have the e420c all hooked up and I'm just not getting spark for some reason. It seems really simple to select the type of engine ignition that the Adaptronic will control. I just need to find out the weak link in the system. Here are the points I need to start checking:

  • I assume the Adaptronic ECU is giving the ignitors signal but I could check those.
  • Double check the ignitor wiring.
  • Double check camshaft angle sensor wiring to Adaptronic.
  • I checked the ignitors and coils have constant + power.
  • Check the distributors? They are brand new.
I've also found that the cause of a lot of people's ignition problems has been the weak wires that lead to the crank angle sensor. These wires are in a pretty harsh environment down under the engine near the main pulley and they have been known to crack and deteriorate to the point at which the car will lose power at certain RPMs. This problem has been solved more than once by replacing and protecting the wires that go to the crank angle sensor.
