Ahh that's a nice bike indeed. I think I talked to a guy at a truck stop a few months back that was riding that exact same bike! He got it for nothing from his brother or something and was loving it. I saw him at the truck stop at 4am and he had all sorts of necessities strapped and hanging off every side of that bike. It was really something to look at. All I thought was, "damn that guy has it right." It's all about riding! He was really happy with the bike and said all it needed was a battery and a spark plug wire or something. You know that thing is bulletproof. And putting a 900 engine into it? OH boy that is a bit much for that thing.
Just make sure whatever you do... swap those handlebars out for something more straight. Those big M shaped bars offer no leverage at all. I swapped some out on a Virago and it made it much more safe. You can get them for about $15 from JC Whitney I believe and they are a must have.
