i think they are before 1980 some thing?? i would take the to a head shop & have them cut them , it will only take a minute.. like i said get them to cut the seats also.. its the right thing to do..

This may be a stupid question but when you say "have them cut them" do you meen they can just make valves? I am learning as I go here, but I figured I would have to buy new valves and have them seated. The CL70 valves are kind of hard to find.

hi they may can be cut, you will have to take them to the machine shop they will let you know, bring the head, they cut the seat of the valve where it would seal to the head, get the head seats cut also..

or buy new valves here is a ebay item number 260701002313 for valves
just type this number in ebays search bar..

if you buy new valves get the seats on the head cut..

Ok,
Thats what I will do. I appreciate the help. The intake valve is a little bent so it wasn't seating properly.

Another tip when removing or installing valves in these heads remove & install one valve at a time, so you wont bend them..

You mean these valves?:

This is not my ebay, just whenever I do my daily ebay search for an exhaust, a bunch of valves come up.

I also don't see why the valves wouldn't be the same. It's the same engine.

I have never had to remove or replace valves though, only adjust the clearance.

i looked at those but was trying to find some i could get in a few days, but i will probably have to get these. I am checking with CHP today.

Waiting is the worst part! It's what makes restoring these things take so long!
